We are sad to announce that on November 26, 2024, Mary Lou Montellano of Libertyville, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Avelar and Catalina Avelar; and her siblings, Jose Jr., Hope Diaz and Beatrice Vaquera.
She is survived by: her husband Abel; her children, Veronica Montellano (Leo Romeo), Laura Dean (Tyler), Eric Montellano (Geri-Lynn) and Monica Carlson (Ken); her grandchildren, Oliver, Michelle Montellano (Larry Kaganovsky), Amanda, Kate, Jordan Romeo, Erin Meyer, Joshua, Justin, Brandon and Dylan Montellano; her great grandchild Jaxen McDonald; and her sister Kathryn Avelar. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McMurrough Funeral Chapel (101 Park Pl, Libertyville, IL 60048). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville, IL 60048). A burial was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ascension Catholic Cemetery (1920 W Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL 60030).
