It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph James Gertz in Libertyville, Illinois, who passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 23, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, JoAnne Micheletto and James Gertz (Jimbo); and his niece Athena Bullard. He is survived by: his daughter JoAnne Gertz; his sisters, Emilie Gertz and Hailey Gertz; and his grandparents, Anne Micheletto (John), Robert Micheletto (Cindy) and Carol Gertz. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and caring friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family will be reserved for the care of his child.
