Izaiah Hernandez Obituary
The beloved son of Gloria E. Lopez, and much-loved brother of Roman, died at the age of 24. He was an early graduate of Libertyville High School, student at Bradley University and a Marine Veteran.
Since he was young, Izaiah was a gifted artist and took solace in nature. He would stuff his pockets with rocks, carry bugs in his hands and enjoyed reading outdoors, hiking and running. He later accomplished finishing the Chicago Marathon.
Izaiah was a gentle soul, who cherished talking to his precious 3-year-old brother and was known for his laugh full of chuckles. He loved cats, most especially his cat Rocky, and Rocky adored him. In addition to his immediate family and cat, Izaiah leaves his great-grandparents Angel and Gloria Lopez, grandparents Marie Antoinette Pendley and Juan C. Hernandez, father Juan R. Hernandez, sister Gianna, brother Domenic, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Izaiah will always be remembered for his wittiness and courage during difficult times. Unfortunately, this time the pain was too difficult, and Izaiah died by suicide on Monday, April 24, 2023. He will be greatly missed.
Family and friends will gather at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 1:00 pm until time of procession 1:50 pm going to Fort Sheridan National Cemetery, Vattner and Sheridan Roads, Highwood where Military Honors and interment will take place.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at 800 Interlaken Lane, Libertyville, IL 60048 following the interment starting at 4:00 pm. Anyone who knew and loved Izaiah is encouraged to come and contribute their stories, memories, and share his favorite foods.

Hernandez we ask that you work for legislation that imposes a greater waiting period between firearm purchase and possession to provide a cooling off period to guard against impulsive acts of violence.".
