He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Libertyville; his wife Priscilla "Pat" Hedrick; his children, Geary "Dean" Hedrick, Jr. (Brenda), Darren Hedrick (Natalie) and Darla Griffith (late Cary); his grandchildren, Geary Hedrick III (Veronika), Brendan and Kaleb Hedrick; his great grandchild Kilian Hedrick; his siblings, James "Mike" Hedrick (Marie), Janice Shifflett (Myran), Helen St. Clair Trail (Johnny), Pamela Ramey and Yolanda St. Clair; his sister-in-law Susan Hedrick; his son-in-law Cary Griffith; and his siblings, Faye Snow and William.
He also received the Lions of Illinois Foundation Fellow Award and the Lions of Illinois Foundation Director's Award and transferred to the Vernon Hills Lions Club in 2018.
