He was predeceased by: his parents, James D. Cummins and Lillian Cummins (Proll). He is survived by: his spouse Terry McClanahan; his children, Christina Seward (Robert) of Elizabethton and David E. Cummins Jr. (Lynn Struesser) of Wallis, Texas; and his grandchildren, Haley Asher (Levi) and Ezra Reneau.
