We are sad to announce that on July 17, 2022, at the age of 91, Barbara Ann Thiele of Lena, Illinois, born in Freeport, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred P. Stewart and Ruby E. Stewart (Shank); and her siblings, Lester, Alfred Stewart, Betty Meyers, Priscilla Stewart and Vivian Krogull.

She is survived by: her husband Roger Thiele of Lena, IL; her children, Robert F. (Kathy) of Waterloo, IA, William F. of Freeport, IL and Debra J. Altensey of Lena, IL; her sister Eleanor Becker (Robert) of Freeport, IL; and her grandchildren, Alisha Frakes, Connie Bicksler, Stephanie Smith, Mindi Thiele, Jenna Thiele and Traci Thiele.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory.

“After not receiving traditional Christmas card from your Mother, I have finally, sadly, searched the obituaries. I am saddened for your loss. Barbara was a King's Daughter child to my Grandmother Velma(Babe) Martin. Your Mother shared such lovely memories and stories of my Grandmother with me that I would have never known had she not been so full of love for Grammy. Thank you for sharing her with me.
