She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Flaherty and William Flaherty; and her brothers, John Flaherty (Betty) and Bill Flaherty (Annabelle). She is survived by: her husband James; and her siblings, Patricia Sterling (late Cal) and Mark Flaherty (Judy). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Bill was so fond of the Millers.. He talked often of the summers spent in Chicagoland where he was able to go into the city with “Jimmy”. I believe Jimmy had duty near the Conrad Hilton Hotel and Bill was able to explore that area. I was always amazed at Bill’s comfort with Chicago. Of course it was Mary who orchestrated these visits where the boy from the farm became comfortable with the big city. She was warm, witty and welcoming to me when I joined the family. What a role model!”
