He was predeceased by: his father John P. Stanton, Sr.; his wife Mary Lou (Schneck); his siblings, Nora (Marie Walsh), Katherine (Joesph), Genevieve (Ronnie Ryan), William (Helen) and Rita (Walter); and his brother-in-law John Schneck.
He is survived by: his children, Maureen Orlando (late Nicholas), Kathleen Broderick (Roy) of John, JP Stanton (Nicolette), Geralyn Stanton, Donna Stanton, Cynthia Bass (Shawn) and Christine Petkov (Ivan); his grandchildren, Stephanie Zych (Richard), Therese Styrczula (Richard), Nicholas Orlando (Katelyn), Christopher Orlando (Amy), Roy Broderick (Megan), Mary Feeley (Brandon), Amanda Horvat (Ryan), Shae Stanton (Brandon Kelly), Kellie Christel (Matt), Jack Novotny, Alexis Bass, Mercedes Bass, Isabel Petkov, Claire Petkov and Anna Petkov; his siblings, Colette Athans (late William) and Thomas Stanton (Helen); and his sisters-in-law, Julie Weber (Gerald) and Joan Schneck (late Frank). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Markiewicz Funeral Home (108 E Illinois St, Lemont, IL 60439). A requiem service will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 9:00 AM at the St. Alphonsus Parish (605 State St, Lemont, IL 60439).
