It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jon Denis Symer of Lebanon, Illinois, who passed away on January 4, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Symer and Faye Symer. He is survived by: his wife Susan Symer; his daughters, Wendy Symer and Jill Quaid; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Denis and Linder; and his cousin Faye Ann Codemo.

As a result of the recent increase in Covid cases in the area, a private funeral service for immediate family only will take place at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the JD Symer Equestrian Education Memorial Fund, 10066 State Route 4, Lebanon, IL 62254.

“I just heard the sad news. Denny Symer was both a coach, teacher, and counselor at Lebanon for many years but especially when I attended the high school in the 1970's. I believe he also was the HS principal for a few years as well. Denny was a good coach and a personable and skillful teacher. He was of great assistance as a counselor to enable so many Lebanon HS students to successfully go on to pursue a college degree. He also was diplomatic and open minded which helped him as a principal.”
