He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frederick Cook and Dorothy Cook (Rowe); his daughter Carrie Groom of Leaf River; his sisters, Suzanne Lewis of Leaf River, Rebecca Bonvillian (Hamilton) of Arlington, TX and Tracy Rodenberg; his grandsons, Jake Groom, Ethan Groom and Sam Groom; and his nieces and nephews, Jami Hackman, Todd Lewis, Scott Untz (Shanille), Nicole McCollum (Craig), Tyler Rodenberg (Rashida), Sara Bonvillian and Paige Rodenberg.

In lieu of flowers memorials are established in his name.
