He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Johnson and Novella Johnson (McKenny); his wife Betty Ann Riggs; his children, Donna Riddle (Vic) of Wapella, Melinda Davis (Jeff) of Babcock Ranch, Florida and David Garland (Tina) of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his brother Shorty Johnson (Joan) of Le Roy, Illinois; and his grandchildren, John Wheat, Jake Riddle (Mia), Colleen Byrne (Jim), Krysten Lockhart (Mark), Kai Davis (Heather), Jerrad Davis, Josh Garland, Ashleigh Price (Aaron), Kelly Rupp (Ben), Kristen Hutchins, Ryan Hutchins (Susan) and Nicholas Hutchins (Nadia). He was also cherished by nineteen great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the FFA of Le Roy or the Ruel Neal American Legion Post 79, Le Roy. The family has requested no flowers.
