He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Carlson and Fenella Carlson (Roberts); and his brothers, Lowell, Kenneth and Darrel Carlson.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Carlson of Le Roy, Illinois; his children, David Carlson (Kathy) of Boise, Lyle Carlson (Lisa) of Villa Grove, Illinois and Laura Carlson of Chicago, Illinois; his sisters, Barbara Ann Cooper (Charley) of St. Ann and Alice May Carlson of Bloomington, Illinois; his grandchildren, Marie Shaffer (Kyle), Chris Carlson, John Carlson and Maggie Carlson; and his great grandchildren, Hadley and Ellis Shaffer.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ruel Neal American Legion Post 79.
