He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Wesley and Georgia Elouise Gaultney Denney; his spouse Beverly Ann Gulley; his son James Denney; and his siblings, Patsy Lawrence and Jerry Denney.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tonja Morris (Kenneth) and Gwyn Denney; his grandchildren, Christopher Price (Miranda), Sada McGee (Ryan), J. Denney (Katie), Gabby Morgan and Alex Morgan; his great grandchildren, Savannah McGee, Nick, Nate Zenger, Bennett, Greyson Denney, Prescot and Colton Price; and his siblings, Ronald Denney (Joyce) and Suzie Seber (Paul).
