With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wilfred Gibson of Lawrenceville, Illinois, who passed away on December 5, 2021 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Justus Gibson and Ruby Gibson (Jenkins); his spouse Beverly Dycus (Priest); his siblings, Freal Gibson, Paul Gibson, Ralph D. Gibson and Norma Jean Grossoehme; and his son David Gibson.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen M. (Patricia) of Fernandina Beach, James W. (Mindy) of Cape Coral, John P. of Burbank, Bradley K. (Shari) of Scottsdale, Philip A. (Pamela) of Phoenix, Greg P. (Cheryl) of Fishers, Will C. (Dedra) of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Cynthia Thacker (David) of Vincennes and Diana Schnuck (Eric) of Lawrenceville, Illinois; his daughter-in-law Karen Gibson of Springfield, Illinois; and his sister Opal Hamm of Dunedin, Florida. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville.
