Valerie C. Goodchild Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Valerie C. Goodchild of Lawrenceville, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 1, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Valerie has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Stuart S. Collins and Virginia Collins (Nulton); and her husband George W. Goodchild. She is survived by: her son Stuart Goodchild of Lawrenceville; her grandchildren, Alicia Hopkins (Nicholas) of Enfield and Nicholas Goodchild (Marissa) of Lawrenceville; her great grandchild Oliver Hopkins; her siblings, Joan Chapman of Columbia and Stuart S. Collins of Felton, Delaware; and her pet Grace. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home (1303 12th St, Lawrenceville, IL 62439).
