She was predeceased by: her parents, Owen Medlen and Eva Medlen (Hatfield); her husband Harold Smith; her siblings, Bill Medlen, Robert 'Buck Medlen and Anna Mae Henry; and her son-in-law Ronnie Bull.
She is survived by: her daughters, Becky Riggs (Jack) of Mascoutah and Denise Bull of Lawrenceville, Illinois; her siblings, Jim Medlen (Judy) of Monticello, Frank Medlen of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Phyllis Crunk of Sandersville, Georgia; and her grandchildren, Sean Riggs, Jaclyn Sneed, Kevin Carie, Levi Carie and Danica Morris. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
