He is survived by: his close friend Darlene Hawkins of Lawrenceville, Illinois; his daughters, Rhonda Stegall (Charlie) of St. Anne, Jennifer Pierce (Robert) of Chatham, April Sexton (Sean) of Findlay and Valerie Elder (Andy) of Robinson, Illinois; his siblings, Donnie Carter (Sue) of Rochelle, Henry (Carter), Robert Carter of Sprötau, Germany, Diane Hilderbrand of Kent and Teresa Deinst of Maple Park, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Timothy Stegall, Megan Stegall, Joseph Stegall, Joshua Dooley, Blake Dooley, Bradley Sexton, Logan Sexton, Katie Elder and Aiden Elder.
