He was predeceased by: his parents, Hershel Dale and Amelia Katherine Bartle (Miabaum); and his great grandchild Eden Gough. He is survived by: his wife Betty Lester; his children, Lloyd Dale Bartle of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Kimberly Kaye Hatton (Douglas) of Vincennes and LaDonna Jean Cardinal (Douglas) of Bruceville, Indiana; his sister Virginia Worstell (Jim) of Bridgeport, Illinois; his grandchildren, Heather Gough (Neal) of O'Fallon, Dustin Hatton, Cora Cochran of Vincennes and Nathan Hatton of Vincennes, Indiana; and his great grandchildren, Camden Gough, Grace Gough and Dane Hatton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heritage Baptist Church in Vincennes, Indiana.
