We are sad to announce that on March 9, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Artie Akers (Lawrenceville, Illinois). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Richard Akers; his grandmother Virginia Akers; his father-in-law Wilmer Wilson; and his siblings-in-law, Deana Akers and Darrell Fisher.

He is survived by: his mother Eloise Akers (Judy) of Bridgeport, IL; his wife Peggy Wilson; his children, April Ritter (Greg) of Iuka, IL and Dustin Akers (Ann) of Aurora; his grandchildren, Allison Jo Ritter of Iuka, IL and Luke Dustin Akers of Aurora, IL; his siblings, Jim Akers (Anita) of Lawrenceville, IL and Judy Clark (Terry) of Flat Rock, IL; his mother-in-law Mary Wilson of Lawrenceville, IL; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Fisher of Lawrenceville, IL, Judy Hutchison (Randy) of Lawrenceville, IL and Jill Deckard of Lawrenceville, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made in Artie's honor to the Pinkstaff United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
