It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John M. Hammond of Laura, Illinois, who passed away on April 4, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of John M. Hammond to show support.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Sydney Hammond (Morton) and John Bancroft Hammond; and his brother Charles Bancroft Hammond (Jeannette). He is survived by: his wife Laura Hammond (Hillyard); his children, Tawny Lynn Hammond (Amy Clayton), John Scott Hammond and Jill Hammond Ross; his grandchildren, Andrew Hammond Ross and Samantha Laura Ross; and his siblings, Emily Herndon (John) and Gordon Hammond (Shirley).

In honor of John's memory, contributions may be made to: Skokie Police Department Benevolent Fund, Shriners Hospital for Children, Best Friends Animal Society.
