She was predeceased by: her father Neil Goretzke; and her son Erik C. Brechnitz, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Erik Brechnitz; her children, Christoper Brechnitz and Beth Utley (Brian); her mother Jean Spangler Goretzke; her brother William Goretzke (Linda); her grandchildren, Hannah Chirico (John), Emma Utley, Meg Utley and Kris Utley; her nephews, KC Brechnitz (Susan) and Nicholas Goretzke (Ashton); her niece Katelyn Kent (Dave); her great grandchildren, Beckett and Hendrix Chirico; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Mills, Hudson Goretzke, Mimi Caldwell (Kevin), Greta Brechnitz and Larson Brechnitz.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Episcopal Church (130 W Eldorado St, Decatur, IL 62522).

In lieu of ﬂowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in the memory of Nancy Brechnitz to the Erik C.Brechnitz.
