He is survived by: his children, Susan Hillegonds (Michael), Jane McDermott-Dienema (James) and Thomas J. McDermott; his grandchildren, Matthew Hillegonds (Courtney) and Sara Hillegonds-Mapes (Benjamin); and his great grandchild Lillian Mapes.
