He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn Kooy. He is survived by: his daughters, Kristine Wilkens (Robb), Karen Phillips (Alfred) and Kathy Shone (Ryan); his grandchildren, Ryan Wilkens (Kaitlin Mettache), Megan Wilkens (Maria), Erin Wilkens, Cody Phillips, Madeline Shone, Emma Phillips, Brady Shone and Holden Shone; and his great grandchildren, Hazel and Violet. He is also survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be donated to St. John's Lutheran Church in Lansing, Illinois or Hospice of the Calumet Area in Munster, Indiana.
