With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James W. Schmueser of Lansing, Illinois, who passed away on November 4, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Schmueser; his parents, Goldie Kemp and William Schmueser; his brother-in-law Frank Nowobilski; his niece Joanne Elsner; and his daughter-in-law Debra Schmueser.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Hasz (Mark), Sharon Schlink (Kevin) and Michael Schmueser; his grandchildren, Jessica Blanton (Nicholas), Amanda Neupert, Jeffery Hasz and Lorna Silipino (John); his great grandchildren, CJ Copeland, Ethan Copeland, Cullen Blanton and Lee Leiber; his sisters-in-law, Maxine Nowobilski and Marie Dillon; his nephew Adam Karl Purdy; and also Paul Elsner.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home (3227 Ridge Rd, Lansing, IL 60438). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (801 Michigan City Rd, Calumet City, IL 60409).
