Gertrude Hoekstra Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gertrude Hoekstra of Lansing, Illinois, who passed away on January 24, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Herman Hoekstra; her son Art (Mary); her brothers, Sam Smith (late Catherine) and Jack Smith (Jean); her brother-in-law Les Hoekstra (late Lorraine); and her parents, Jacob Smith and Beatrice Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, Don, Howard (Karen), Steve (Gloria) and Ken Hoekstra; her siblings, Ron Smith (late Carol), Bill Smith (Betty), Dorothy DeVries (Rich), Dave Smith (Lois) and Harry Smith (Andrea); and her siblings-in-law, Rose Kuipers, Ralph Hoekstra (Lois), Evelyn Lagestee (John), Gertrude VanderMeyden (Will), Audrey Witvoet (John) and Jack Hoekstra (Penny). She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
