He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernhardt Vierk and Adele Vierk (Rakow); and his brother Edward "Jim" Vierk (Alice). He is survived by: his wife Nora Vierk (Heimbuch); his daughter Lois Vierk (Bruce Ide); and his granddaughter Wendy Shu-Fen Ide. He is also survived by four nieces.
