He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Bruinsma and Phyllis DeBoer (late Melvin); and his parent-in-law Tunis Van Baren (late Shirley). He is survived by: his spouse Lynn C. Bruinsma; his daughters, Victoria Bruinsma (Kurtis Van Kuiken) and Cassandra Bruinsma; his siblings, Don Bruinsma (Jann), Debbie DeYoung (Paul) and Duane Bruinsma (Mary); and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Van Baren (Marcia) and Arthur Van Baren (Sharon).
