It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Elizabeth (Huizenga) Kapteyn of Lansing, Illinois, who passed away on May 13, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Huizenga and Gertrude Huizenga; and her siblings, Bart Huizenga (Tina), Jerry Huizenga (Audrey), Nick Huizenga (Joanne) and Jim Huizenga (Marian).
She is survived by: her husband John Kapteyn; her children, Terry Kapteyn (Cheryl), Scott Kapteyn (Julie) and Diane Togtman (Don); her grandchildren, Eric Kapteyn (Kay), Kelly Evers (Shawn), Jaclyn Lenehan (Patrick), Michelle Svendsen (Dan), Katie DeGraff (Curt), Wade Kapteyn (Jenni), Braden Kapteyn (Natalie), Mike Togtman (Hannah) and Brooke Togtman; and her siblings, Anna Mae VanDrunen (late Milt), Kathryn Rottenberg (late Dave) and Joey Vredeveld (late Harvey). She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
