She was predeceased by: her husband Robert J. Benne; her parents, August Dust and Bertha Dust; her siblings, Johanna Griffin and Harold Dust; and her great grandchild Faith Bonham.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Alan, Benne DeWitt and Janice Lynn DeWitt (William); and her grandchildren, Shane Nowak, Shannon Doffin, Melissa Hawkins, Sharis Bonham, Eric DeWitt, Will Benne, Cheri Taylor and Kristie Curry. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Benne's name to Humane Indiana (formerly the Humane Society of the Calumet Area) or Sanctuary Hospice.
