With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Meier of Lancaster, Illinois, born in Crete, Illinois, who passed away on October 18, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William T. Meier and Emma Meier; his wife Virginia Lee Meier; his daughter Sherryl Smith; his grandson Andrew James Meier; and his siblings, Esther, Melvin and Vernon Meier.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Lucia (John) of Crown Point, IN and Richard W. Meier, Jr. (Barbara) of Elizabethtown; his grandchildren, John, Michael Lucia, Katrina Rhodes and Shaun Meier; and his great grandchildren, Kimber, Kensley, Kohen, John Michael, Tommy, Colton and Molly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard's name may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church at the address above.
