He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Conaway and Nettie Conaway (Jenkins). He is survived by: his spouse Dawne Diane Rickett; his children, Gary Conaway Jr. of Dallas, TX, Jaison Conaway (Janee) of Prosper, TX, Gail Spurgin (Christopher) of Gunter, TX, Shawn Pratt of Greensburg, PA and Amanda Ward (Mark) of Lakewood; his grandchildren, Mason Conaway, Jessica Newhall, Nicolas Conaway, Ryane Spurgin, Regan Spurgin, Madilyn Ward, Abel Ward and Amilia Conaway; his great grandchild Jayce Newhall; his siblings, Helen K. Calhoun of Ocala, FL and Harry Clyde Conaway (Mary) of Lorain, OH; and his brother-in-law Fred Younkin of Ocala, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
