Arlene Y. Koontz Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arlene Y. Koontz of Lakewood, Illinois, born in Strasburg, Illinois, who passed away on August 5, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Arlene farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Arlene is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville G. Bauer and Laura E. Bauer (Von Behren); and her husband H. Dale Koontz, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Kim Largen (Rick) of Lakewood, IL and Steve Koontz (Susan) of Lakewood, IL; her granddaughter Torre Koontz of Lakewood, IL; and her caregiving angel Gina Perry of Shelbyville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Shelbyville High School Girls Softball or Saving Orphaned Animals in Shelbyville, IL.
