With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard P. Reedy (Lake Zurich, Illinois), born in Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 8, 2024 at the age of 92. He was predeceased by: his children, Lynnae Reedy, Joseph Reedy and Gail Reedy; his parents, Estelle Reedy and Lawrence W. Reedy; and his siblings, Dorothy Morris, Larry Reedy and Bill Reedy (Gigi).
He is survived by: his brother Leo (Polly); his wife Lynda; his stepchildren, Richard Reedy (Eileen), Julie Kazimier (Phil), David Reedy, Paul Reedy (Candye), Philip Reedy (Jill), Christopher Reedy (Lynette), Tara Sliva (Kevin), Alison Mitchell (Ryan) and Brooke Beaudoin (Robert); his grandchildren, Patrick Reedy, Bridget Jones (JR), Jacquelyn Smith (Pete), Jason Kazimier, Patricia Bean (Bennett), Kathryn Lane (Lenny), Alex Reedy (Chandler), Danielle Stewart (Charlie), Blair Reedy, Melissa Richards (Dustin), Callie Reedy, Stephanie Rich (Vick), Brandon Suarez, Jonathan Suarez, Luke Reedy (Catherine), Nick Reedy, Matthew Reedy, Michael Reedy, Zachary Reedy, Samuel Reedy (Desiree), Isabelle Reedy, Vivienne Sliva, Violet Sliva, Andrew Mitchell, Reed E. Mitchell, Brianna Beaudoin, Melanie Beaudoin and Nolan Beaudoin; and his great grandchildren, Jaden Reedy, Emma, Avery Jones, Ryder Smith, Kayla Kazimier, Otis Bean, Ava, Annie Lane, Wesley Stewart, Brooks Richards, Jayme Rich, Finn Reedy, Waylon and William Reedy.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Saint Anne Catholic Community (120 Ela St, Barrington, IL 60010).
Dick also spent many years playing Santa at different charity events and at his youngest daughters' elementary schools.
