It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Megan Butz (Lake Zurich, Illinois), born in Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on January 21, 2020, at the age of 26, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her sister Sophie; her parents, Larry Butz and Mary Jo Butz (Schimpf); her sisters, Sophia and Grace Butz; her grandparents, Fred, Nancy Butz of Lafayette, IN, Glenn and Patricia Schimpf of Dayton, OH; her aunts and uncles, Alan (Karen Butz), Mike (Linda Butz), Kathy Kugelman (Butz), Kevin (Lisa Burkett), Steve (Melanie Butz), Glen (Susie Flaningham), Eric (Sally Dobras), Dennis (Angie Schimpf), John (Kim Schimpf) and Jon (Molly Zumberge); and her cousins, Zack, Dylan, Blake, Morgan, Macy, Jenna, Dax, Kayla, Nancy, Jack, Micaela, Megan, Julia, Grant, Jake, Emily, Ben, Abbey, Peter, Justin, Lauren, Matthew, Nicholas and Ethan. She is also survived by dad, and both younger sisters.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Megan's name to continue her legacy of helping others with Let It Be Us, an organization that supports foster children in Illinois. The family requests donations in Megan's memory.
