It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John S. Filantres of Lake Zurich, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on September 1, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his spouse Elfrieda Filantres; his parents, John Gus Filantres and Rose; and his brother Gus Filantres (Cindy). He is survived by: his children, Lucinda A. Goebel (Donald) and John W. Filantres (Joan); his grandchildren, Elizabeth McDonald (Eithan), Brent Goebel (Erin), Christopher Goebel (Jamie), Nicholas Filantres (Autumn), Adam Filantres (Nicole) and John J Filantres (Maureen); and his sisters, Helen Burris (Bob), Georgine Runge (Bob) and Tina Dziadula (Bob).
