He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold James and Frieda Henkel; his wife Virginia Henkel; his daughter Peggy Jones; and his sister Judy Jakacki.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Schuler (Jim) of Lake Zurich and Julie Austin of McHenry; his brother Gerald "Jerry" Henkel (Diane) of Ingleside; his close friend Marlies Payne; and his brother-in-law Len Jakacki of Ocala, FL.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harold's name to Alliance for Humane Action (http://www.ahaworks.org), a low-cost spay and neuter organization for cats, appreciated.
