Richard R. Appelt Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard R. Appelt of Lake Villa, Illinois, born in Martin, North Dakota, who passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmanuel Appelt and Pearl Appelt (Woodring); his siblings-in-law, Melvin and Mabel Johnson; his sister Geraldine; his brother-in-law John Dethloff; his brother Ralph Appelt; and his siblings-in-law, Doris, Kermit Engebretson, Martha and Duanne Westermann.

He is survived by: his children, Shonda Doty (Richard), Mark Appelt (Meaghan) and Ryan Appelt (Lisa); his grandchildren, Niva, Avina, Mikaela, Draven, Legion, Avin, Amya, Ayla and Alyn; his brother Robert Appelt; and his sister-in-law Julia Appelt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
