He was predeceased by: his father Edmund Knipp. He is survived by: his mother Nancy Knipp (Thomson); his children, Michael Knipp Jr., Kraig Knipp and Christopher Knipp; his grandchildren, Nina, Madison, Taylor, Lowden and Bailey; and his brothers, Greg Knipp (Judy) and Dave Knipp. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
