With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joanne Gengel of Lake Villa, Illinois, born in Itasca, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 15, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Rosen and Frieda Rosen; her son Gregory; and her brother-in-law William Lies. She is survived by: her husband Ronald Gengel; her children, Norene Keefer (Al) of Lake Villa, IL and Gerald Gengel (Justine) of Lake Villa, IL; her grandchildren, Gregory Keefer (Jennifer), Olivia Keller (Zachary), Kurtis Keefer (Grace Logan), Teagan Gengel and Trey Gengel; her great grandchildren, Rodney and Leroy Keller; and her sisters, Diane Lies of Roselle, IL and Elsie May Higgins (Ken) of Antioch, IL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church are appreciated in Joanne's memory.
