She was predeceased by: her parents, Toivo Kangas and Ellen Miller; her husband Jack Melcher; her son Randy Peters; her stepfather Tom Miller; and her brothers, Charlie, Bill and Jerry Kangas.
She is survived by: her daughter Annette Cronin (Dennis); her stepchildren, Jack Melcher (Debbie) and Bonnie Elsbury; her grandchildren, Lauren Fish (Brian), Cierra Peters, Amber Yocco (Mike), Joshua Melcher (Natalie), Jonathon Melcher (Sarah) and Eric Elsbury; her great grandchildren, River, Zoe, Veda, Daria, Max Melcher and Lucia Elsbury; her stepsiblings, Chuck Miller (Sharon), Dori Miller, Barbara Savage and Ann Miller-Mitchell; and her sister-in-law Sandra Long (Gary).
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Congdon & Co Funeral Directors (3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, IL 60099). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Cancer Research Hospital have been suggested.
