He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Schaefer and Rose Mary Schaefer; and his brother David. He is survived by: his children, Grace "Gigi" and Peter, Jr.; his wife Julie; his son Pete; his mother-in-law Jackie; and his siblings, Mark, Paul, Robert, Karen and Suzanne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
