He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Schmidt (James), Charlene Nelson (Anthony), Jeffrey Michalak and Katelynn Fischler; his grandchildren, Kristin Schmidt, Kara Schmidt, Jodi Schmidt, James Schmidt III, Taylor Nelson, Zachary Nelson, Caden Nelson and Mason Fischler; and his great grandchild Liam Nelson-Peterson.
