He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Machnich; his daughter Tegan Machnich (Var Lordahl); his grandchildren, Everett and Quinn; his sister Corinne Nennig; and his nephews, Frank Nennig (Cindy), Monte Nennig (Cheryl) and Mike Nennig (Michelle).
He was the founder and past president of the Waukegan Schools Foundation.
