He was predeceased by: his former wife Karen Kline; and his siblings, Susan Kent and John Kline. He is survived by: his wife Mary Kline; his children, James "Jay" Kline (Laura) and Julia Kline; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew and Leah; and his brother Daniel Kline (Kay).
