With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William L. Downey of Lacon, Illinois, born in Peru, Illinois, who passed away on April 12, 2024 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Downey and Eva Downey (Mertes); and his siblings, John "Jack" Downey, Robert "Bob" Downey, James "Jim" Downey and MaryAnn Wagner.
He is survived by: his daughter Tamara Mehalic; his granddaughter Katherine Jason (Derek); and his great grandchildren, Kaya of Lacon, Kloee of Lacon, Silas of Lacon, Shane of Lacon and Xander of Lacon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Instead of memorial contributions, the family asks that you please do something for someone who can do nothing for you.
