He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Assalley and Edna Assalley (Sear); his wife Jackie of La Salle; his children, William "Bill" Assalley (Carolyn) of Chatham, Mary Newcomer (Jeff) of La Salle and James "Jim" Assalley (Cindy) of Naperville; his grandchildren, Michael Assalley (Lauren), Steven Newcomer, Lauren Assalley (Wes Layton), Sally Etzenbach (Kurt), Elizabeth Assalley (Alan Whitlaw), Sydney Assalley and Connor Assalley; and his great grandchildren, Ila, Brayden, Ann Marie, Vincent and Camden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Bede Academy or St. Jude's Research Hospital.
