He was predeceased by: his parents, John Olszewski and Rose Olszewski (Welepski); his wife Virginia Kroll; his son Robert Olszewski; his siblings, John, Frank Olszewski, Sophie Liss, Mary Pisaneschi and Virg Wasik; and his great grandchild Evan Olszewski.
He is survived by: his son Edward Olszewski (Susan) of La Salle; his grandchildren, Derek Olszewski (Michelle) of Ottawa, Nicole Hurst (John) of La Salle and Alison Goode (Jason) of Peru; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Kyleigh, Collin, Mady Olszewski, Brady, Mason Hurst, Harper and Kinley Goode.
He was presented an award from the American Red Cross for having completed 20 gallons of blood donations and continued to donate more.
