He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Koopmans and Kathrine Zelendrust Koopmans; his son Garry Koopmans; and his sons-in-law, Kevin Eastabrooks and Billy Pappas.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor "Elie" Smith; his children, David Koopmans (Deb) of Omaha, Robert Koopmans (Becky) of Burlington, Melanie Eastabrooks of Dayton and Valerie Pappas of Lake Ariel; his daughter-in-law Teresa Koopmans of Gladstone; and his siblings, Melvin Koopmans of Argos, Kathrine Runia of Kalamazoo, Helen DeVries of Florida and Janice Alvey of Huntington, Indiana.. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the LaHarpe Union Church (107 N Center St, La Harpe, IL 61450).
