He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer C. Smith and Dora E. Morris Smith; and his siblings, Homer, Melvin Smith and Donetta Whalen.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his sons, Larry Smith (Trish) of LaHarpe and Gary Smith (Becky) of LaHarpe; his grandchildren, Josh Smith (Melinda), William Smith (Karen), Tanner Smith (Macy) and Erin Wear (Josh); his brother Carl Smith (Patricia) of Macomb; his aunt Lucille Morris of Clarksville; and his sisters-in-law, Tanna Rhodes and Lenora Smith. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, a private graveside service will be held Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Terre Haute Cemetery with Rev. Lee Unger officiating.
