He was predeceased by: his wife Anne; his children, Thomas Robert and Anne Catherine; his grandson Lewis James III; his parents, Fred and Pearl; and his siblings, Richard, Fred, Pat and Nora Anne.
He is survived by: his children, Judith, Mary Porreca, Nancy Dohnalek (David), Lewis James Scheer Jr., Michael Scheer (Jackie), Timothy Scheer (Bridget) and Richard Scheer (Laurine); and his pet Bitsy. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Cletus Catholic Church (600 W 55th St, La Grange, IL 60525).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made either to St. Cletus Catholic Church or The Delta Waterfowl Foundation.
